Your customers are on social media and you should be, too.
“But how? Where do I need to be? Where do I even begin?”
Let’s look at 6 simple steps to help you build a basic strategy and begin using social media to promote your business and build your brand.
One: set a goal. What do you want to achieve? Are you just trying to put yourself out there and expose your brand? Do you want more visits to your website or your store location?
Two: determine your target audience. Are you looking to share your message with stay-at-home moms, dads, business owners, teenagers, or healthcare professionals?
Three: research the various platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Each has a unique makeup so weigh the pros and cons, and determine a good fit for you and your business.
Four: determine how much time and how much money you are going to dedicate. How often will you be able to post? Do you have plenty of content within reach at all times or will you need to set aside time to develop video or graphic content? Are you going to choose a handful of great posts to promote, or are you going to spread your budget out?
Five: get organized. Build out a calendar. Write copy for each day you plan to post, and find or produce content. Work toward being a few weeks’ ahead so you aren’t scrambling.
Six: execute your plan. Schedule as much as you can ahead of time, leave room for great organic content, and make sure to positively engage with your audience when they comment or share a post.
Enjoy being social!
